Enamel Bowls

Over the past couple of years Jeanette has been experimenting with enamelling copper bowls . The technique is completely different from her usual work which is creating pictures on flat copper panels.

Enamelling at the best of times can be quite unpredictable. It can depend on how one enamel power reacts with another; variations in kiln temperature and firing time.

Jeanette will high fire (at a higher than usual temperature) the bowls building up layers of opaque and transparent enamels and finds it such a joy when taking bowls out of the kiln to find out what intricate patterns have developed.
